How the school is staged

NEP 2020 replaced the old 10+2 structure with a 5+3+3+3 design that follows how children actually develop. We are organised accordingly.

Foundational Stage — Ages 3 to 8 (Pre-primary to Class II)

Play-based and activity-based, with the highest priority on foundational literacy and numeracy. Teaching is substantially in the home language or Hindi alongside English. No formal examinations; progress is recorded through observation and a portfolio of work.

Preparatory Stage — Ages 8 to 11 (Classes III to V)

A gentle move towards subject teaching, still activity-led. Reading, writing, speaking, physical education, art, languages, science and mathematics through discovery rather than dictation.

Middle Stage — Ages 11 to 14 (Classes VI to VIII)

Subject teachers, laboratory work and abstract concepts. Coding and computational thinking begin here, along with vocational exposure — carpentry, gardening, electrical work, pottery and local crafts — and at least ten bagless days a year, as the Policy requires.

Secondary Stage — Ages 14 to 18 (Classes IX to XII)

Multidisciplinary study with greater subject choice and depth. Students are not forced into rigid streams; combinations across Science, Commerce and Humanities are permitted subject to the Board's scheme of studies.

Languages

We follow the three-language formula with flexibility, as the Policy specifies, and no language is imposed on any student. English, Hindi and Sanskrit are offered, with a regional-language option in the earlier stages.

Assessment

Internal assessment is competency-based and continuous. We use the Holistic Progress Card model — a child's report reflects academic progress alongside self-assessment, peer feedback and teacher observation, rather than a single mark. Board examinations for Classes X and XII are conducted by CBSE.
