Child Protection & Anti-Bullying
A safe campus is a staffed commitment, not a slogan
Child protection
The school operates a Child Protection Committee and complies with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. All staff — teaching, administrative, transport and support — undergo police verification before appointment, and are briefed annually on their reporting obligations. Reporting a suspicion is mandatory for every staff member; it is not a matter of judgement.
Anti-bullying
Bullying, including online bullying, is treated as a disciplinary matter and is dealt with by the Anti-Bullying Committee constituted as per CBSE guidelines.
- Any student, parent or staff member may report an incident to any teacher, to the counsellor, or through the drop box outside the counsellor's room.
- The committee examines the report, hears the students involved separately, and informs both sets of parents.
- Outcomes range from counselling and restorative measures to suspension, depending on severity and repetition.
- Support is offered to the affected child for as long as it is needed.
Safety on campus
- CCTV coverage of corridors, gates, laboratories and playgrounds.
- Controlled entry and a recorded visitor management procedure.
- Female attendants on every school bus, with GPS tracking and CCTV.
- Fire and evacuation drills each term.
- A full-time counsellor available to students without a parent's or teacher's permission.
Prohibition of corporal punishment
Corporal punishment and mental harassment are prohibited absolutely, in line with the RTE Act, 2009 and CBSE guidelines. Any breach is a disciplinary matter for the staff member concerned.
